General Information
The training is scheduled to commence on Sunday 10th January 2010 and conclude in August 2011.
Terms 1 and 2 will form an intensive study period of 20 weeks, up to and including 23rd May, after which time the January intake will merge with the existing students for Term 3 onwards, starting 6th June.
Classes take place every Sunday from 10.30am until 7.00pm at the Cameron Mackintosh Studios in Wood Green, London. Students will be expected to put in a minimum of 10 hours practice work each week in their own time outside the Sunday classes.
The first 2 terms will run consecutively every Sunday for 20 weeks. From Term 3 onwards there are breaks scheduled for Christmas, Easter and Summer, although these are flexible and teaching will occur on additional bank holiday weekends if deemed necessary. As the training progresses students will be expected to make additional provision in their own time for rehearsal on scene work with fellow students as part of their commitment to the training schedule.
Students will be expected to provide books (reading lists are issued each term), playscripts, practice clothes and other necessary equipment. These items will be the student’s own property and will be at their own expense.
The minimum age for enrolment is 18. Beyond that there is no age limit. Applicants in their middle years and older are welcome as age, in itself, will in no way inhibit their chances of work in the profession.
The LRCA operates an Equal Opportunities policy.
The training requires a high level of energy and commitment and students must be of good general health. Candidates must have complete fluency in the English language.
